1. How Search Works In VIDIZMO
3. Administrator Level Filters
Search is often at the front and center of what we do and with the expansion of digital media in the enterprise, the time employees spend searching is only expected to surge. The rampant use of enterprise video across organizations, for instance, means that a great deal of business-related information will now be stored in the form of the video for employees to extract insights and knowledge from.
Keeping in view the inherent challenges faced by the users in searching for relevant information, VIDIZMO has implemented a powerful search tool that helps users to quickly obtain the desired results from the information spread across the portal. For example, based upon permissions assigned to the user, a search can be performed to bring up results which match keywords defined in entities such as Tags, Author Name, Closed Captions, Category names and those defined as Custom Attributes. When the search is performed from the Channel Homepage or the Channel Library, VIDIZMO will look into these entities to bring up the results.
Campaign's section and Users & Groups have their own search and will bring up the results based on their respective criteria. These require Administrative permission and are described in Administrator Level Filters below.
VIDIZMO search works on all metadata, including titles, tags, description, long description, category, the author as well as all the content that is part of published videos (in case of rich presentation, there can be closed captions, ppt, documents etc. where all such content is indexed and searchable). Search works globally to get all presentations across all channels within an account or to perform a search within any specific channel.
VIDIZMO's search mechanism is relevance-based, which means that the searched Media, User, or Campaign with the highest weight will appear first. To narrow down the search, users can also filter the media, where the search engine takes the entire media uploaded to the portal into consideration and removes items based on the filters set by the users.
Below is an example search using the term "Town Hall". Only the media which has this term (or part of this term) are listed in the search results:
i. Searched Term: Town Hall
ii. Searched Term in Media Title
iii. Searched Term in Media Description
i. & ii. The complete term "Town Hall" in the Title and Description
iii. The complete term "Town Hall" in the Category
The more places a search term or part of the searched term appears, the more weight it carries in the search results and the higher it will be placed on the list.

4. Search In Closed Captions
Closed Captions are transcriptions of the words spoken in a video/audio. Closed captions can be used to add clarity to video and audio files. Moreover, it increases the searchability and also assists those with hearing disabilities, an accessibility requirement for 508 Compliance. VIDIZMO supports Closed Captions (CC) for audio and video files. These can be added from the Media Settings either accessed from Media Management or while uploading media.
In the transcription pane, enter a term (in this example, Linaro) in the Search field and if the searched term is found, all of its instances get highlighted.
